Gene’s Medical Crisis-Part 6: The Big Move

This was suppose to happen on Monday but would you believe, it is happening today (Friday) at 5 p.m.-the big move to Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Center. A bed became available so the surgeon snatched it and released him to go. He really is getting better!

He looks good today even with his almost two week growth of beard stubble. We are so grateful for God’s healing touch on his body.

He still deals with pain. He can take a few steps with assistance and his brain fog is getting better.

Our goal now is to regain strength, get him safely walking and able to take care of his personal needs.

My husband has been to Sheltering Arms a couple of times. The one near Short Pump. First time was a true blessing, wonderful therapists of several categories. Staff was kind and attentive. 2nd visit was not as pleasant and he really was not ready to be sent home. My neighbor JILL, as been a God Sent person. She is the head of the nursing staff for Common Wealth I believe that is correct name, their in home Therapist Ashley has been wonderful with Wayne and is getting stronger under her care. The nurse they sent the first couple weeks was great too. If Gene us needing in home PT I highly recommend this company.
I am praying for Gene’s recovery. I am so glad he is on the mend and Sheltering Arms will be just what he needs.
